From crime scenes to courtrooms, Mike Wells takes the audience with him to every assignment.

In a journalism career spanning more than a dozen years, Wells has documented the tragedies and triumphs of people in small towns, gated communities and blighted inner city neighborhoods.

Wells is currently editor of a local news site to serve central Tampa (seminoleheights.patch.com), and he contributes freelance reports to a variety of news services.

He is a former member of The Tampa Tribune’s online news team – the Continuous News Desk – providing content for TBO.com, the Tribune and the parent company’s television station, News Channel 8 (WFLA-TV).

His work has appeared in major metropolitan newspapers, magazines and online. Wells has appeared as a guest commentator on CNN Headline News and MSNBC.

Wells won a Society of Professional Journalists Green Eyeshade Award for Online Investigative Reporting and is a two time winner for Feature Writing in the Missouri-Associated Press Managing Editors News Writing Contest.

He lives in Tampa, Fla.
